The active substance is diclofenac sodium. Each 1 g of gel contains 10 mg diclofenac sodium as diclofenac diethylamine.Almiral gel contains the active substance diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is specially formulated for rubbing into the skin only. Almiral gel is used to relieve pain and swelling in a number of painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles.Almiral gel relieves rheumatic and muscular pain, and reduces swelling and inflammation, eg injuries involving the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. For relief of sprains, strains, bruises, backache, tendonitis (e.g. tennis elbow) and for localized and mild arthritis.
